The CLARITy Coalition (Coalition for Liberty Against the Reality of Islamist Tyranny) strongly supports H.R. 9567, the Protecting Our Constitution Act of 2026, introduced by Representative Keith Self (R-TX) and six additional Members of Congress on June 30, 2026.
The United States is founded on the principles of constitutional governance, equal protection under the law, and the inalienable rights of every individual. Those principles are not merely aspirational—they are the foundation of a free and democratic society. They must remain the supreme authority governing all who live within the United States.
H.R. 9567 reaffirms this principle by ensuring that no foreign legal or political system that conflicts with the Constitution, the rule of law, or the fundamental liberties guaranteed to every American can be recognized or enforced by U.S. courts or administrative bodies. The legislation explicitly rejects the application of foreign laws, religious laws, customs, or practices that undermine constitutional rights and protections.
Among the practices addressed are the unequal treatment of women, forced or underage marriage, violence against women and children, and restrictions on freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and freedom of religion. These protections reinforce the universal rights that liberal democracies are obligated to defend.

Although existing laws provide important safeguards, H.R. 9567 offers a clear and unequivocal reaffirmation that the Constitution alone remains the highest legal authority in the United States. At a time when illiberal ideologies—including Islamist theocratic movements—continue to challenge the principles of liberal democracy, this legislation strengthens the legal and moral foundation upon which individual liberty depends.
The CLARITy Coalition therefore proudly supports the Protecting Our Constitution Act of 2026 as an important affirmation of constitutional supremacy, equal rights, and the enduring commitment to liberty for every American.
