Ashti Waissi is a political analyst and host of Hidden Face of Politics. A former Kurdish refugee raised in Edmonton, Alberta, she spent nearly five years as a policy advisor on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, worked with the British Columbia provincial government, and was a Conservative nomination candidate in the last federal election for an Ottawa riding. She also served as Deputy Campaign Manager in the national Conservative campaign in Nepean during the 2025 federal election.

Ashti currently focuses on geopolitics in the Middle East and issues related to rising radical Islamist activity and terrorism in Canada and the US, bringing a direct, experience-driven perspective to her analysis. Ashti holds two bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Alberta and the University of British Columbia.
